Life Lense

Hey, hi!

I've never done something like this before, but I have a lot of stuff floating around my brain. I figured why not spill them on a website of my own. if even one person comes across my page and learns one new thing, or realizes their feelings are normal or valid, then this will be worth it. Even if no one sees this, I think it'll help clear my brain out a little.

My name is Laina. I'm 21 and I just graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology just over one month ago. I was in college for three years and I completed most of my schooling online at Walden University. From here, I want to look into some internships. I know I want to help children, specifically children with developmental delays, learning disabilities, and neurodivergent children. Before I started college, I'd worked in two daycares. During college, I worked at another daycare. In every classroom I've taught in, there's been at least one neurodivergent child. I find myself drawn to them, even before knowing whether they're neurodivergent or not. And they seem to like me too. I think there needs to be so much more understanding of children in general, but especially children who struggle to speak for and express themselves. I do suspect myself to be neurodivergent as well, and I have wondered if that could be a factor as to why we connect. All this to say, I'm looking into many different career options within the field of child psychology. And I'll probably blab about that in a new section on another day, but for now, I'll be done.

One place on the internet I frequent is Youtube. I typically use Youtube to put on soothing music with a cute background image, such as Studio Ghibli animations. Sometimes I listen to instrumental music that's themed like whatever show, movie, or book I'm interested in at the moment.
